Species Account:

Jorunna funebris is uncommon on Okinawa; I've collected a total of 7 individuals between July 1989 and March, 1994. Perhaps 6-8 additional animals were seen but not collected. The illustrated 61mm specimen is unusually large for an Okinawan specimen; the next largest individual was 20mm. I've added a second page with images of three additional Okinawa specimens. This beautiful animal is readily recognized as there are no other nudibranchs in the local waters that are pigmented quite like this attractive Jorunna.
